CRUSADES 2025

In 2025, we expect to revisit some old friends, as well as attempt to add a few new facilities to the list of places in which SPM missionary-athletes have ministered.

The fluid nature of prison culture in recent years has made crusade planning more difficult than at anytime in Saints Prison Ministry history. As you review the opportunities presented here, recognize that some details may change along the way. Since every commitment requires altering family or work schedules, we will commit to the dates as presented, however destinations may be impacted by the responses from individual prisons.

Carefully review the following pages for all the information on available 2025 crusades. If you want to be part of one of these trips, be sure to read every page that corresponds to your intentions and follow the instructions completely to ensure your spot on the roster.

**Please bookmark this page and check back often to see any new opportunities that might arise as the year goes along.

As dates or destinations become available, each MA will have to determine what is best for their own schedule and capacity to meet all the requirements. To no one’s surprise, EVERY crusade has gotten more expensive to operate, so these support levels reflect very real costs and they have all increased – some significantly. Please do not overextend yourself.

Requirements

We have tried to put a procedure in place that ideally allows for everyone to have the same opportunity. Please read the following instructions carefully, and proceed as the Lord leads you. These instructions explain how to secure your spot on a team – any other form of communication will be considered informational only.

Review the dates

Please take some time to determine if God wants you to serve on one of these crusades. Include your family in this prayer time, since they may be impacted by the crusade as well.

Send an email

Once you are confident that you are making a decision based on the Lord’s leading, you should send an email to crusades@saintsprisonministry.org to hold your spot on the roster. This is a temporary hold only – your spot is not secured until you have completed further steps.

Complete Crusade-specific forms

Go to the Forms section at the bottom of of this page; open and complete both the SPM forms and the specific state forms, if available. Not all state forms accept digital signatures, so it may be necessary to print the form(s) out in order to sign them, then scan them back in to send. If the state forms are not linked, check back at a later date as some states update forms annually and the most current version may be delayed.

These documents must be signed, dated, and witnessed where required, then scanned/emailed to crusades@saintsprisonministry.org or mailed to our NJ address as listed on that page. Read these documents thoroughly and carefully – know what you are signing!.

Note** SPM staff is not allowed to sign the witness line of the Crusade Release.

Note** Scans from phones and/or pictures will not be accepted; scans must be from an office machine, sent as a .pdf

Submit your $50 deposit

Each Crusade Agreement must be accompanied by a $50 non-refundable deposit. This deposit can be via check or made via the SPM website. If deposit is being made online, choose My Gift For: Crusade Deposit and use the comments box on that same page to indicate the crusade destination and your name. This deposit represents your commitment to the crusade, as well as demonstrates to potential supporters that you are invested with them.

Filling the roster

The roster will be filled in the following manner:  The emails -in the order received – will hold a roster spot for 1 week.  However the spot is not guaranteed until all documents and deposit have been received and verified as complete.  Again – the only way to guarantee a spot on the roster is to submit the $50 deposit, SPM Crusade Application, Missionary-Athlete Agreement, and Crusade Release for the trip in which you wish to participate.

If not currently serving on a Saints Prison Ministry athletic team, prospective MAs for each crusade are subject to an interview by an SPM designee before the roster spot is confirmed. Meeting the above requirements does not guarantee participation in the crusade, but is required to be considered.
