One of the ways that we seek to demonstrate Christ’s love is by meeting tangible needs where possible. In prison, we have found that the equipment they use is in very poor condition and the prisons do not allocate funds for replacing worn equipment.
To marry these two thoughts, we have formed The Glove Exchange – a program designed to replace the old, worn gloves the inmates are using with reconditioned gloves – prepared with loving care by SPM volunteers. This is very well received and helps develop the relationship with these men and women very early in our visit; which in turn makes them more attentive when it comes time to share the Gospel message in word!
If you have an old baseball glove that you would like to donate to this program, it will be fully restored and made part of an exchange at a prison in the near future. Simply click here to send an email to Rodney Stewart, our Glove Exchange Coordinator, and we will make arrangements to get the glove from you!
